On the threshold of puberty music lover Jonas is leaving the familiar environment of his children’s room. For the first time he is looking beyond the rim of his tea cup of his sheltered existence and discovers the new, fascinating social and musical world of the next door neighbour girl Helen. A new phase in Jonas’ life is about to start.
Quietly the audience accompanies Jonas through his confusing puberty where music is his sheet anchor.
A little piece of pure childhood from the Eighties, accompanied by the eccentric soundtrack of the L.A. band “Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti”. Selected by the audience as the best short film at the „Blicke“ Festival in Bochum. In addition Rubber Soul was not only nominated in the category „best natitional film“ for the „Goldener Reiter“ award, but also as the only german film at the festival for „best sound“.
